SF Mayor, Zoo Director, and Society Board, Seek High-Tech Enclosure For Pandas While Orangutans Live On Concrete Mounds

Oh geez, where to pick-up the documentation.  To say I'm overwhelmed with Animal related issues is more than accurate.  I do a good job of shutting down and shutting out when this happens, but when I do that, it never fails, more happens and I fall further behind.  I wish I didn't have this need to document, but after sixteen years of being a voice for the voiceless, it's hard to stop.  That said, I would never stop completely.  I feel like I am the only member of the public who can accurately portray what is happening at Our Zoo and in Our Park.

I've previously expressed how even thinking about blogging affects me physically.  I'm one paragraph in, and already my ears are pulsating and my face is flush.  Contrary to what some think, this is not fun for me at all.  I have a life, and many other things to do, but I'm pulled into these issues, not because I'm obsessed, but because I'm empathetically passionate about there being decent and respectful treatment for non-human Beings.  I will never give up advocating for Animals, specifically the ones in my corner of the world.

This post was supposed to be the continuation and preamble to the Chronicle article dated September 18,  regarding the San Francisco Zoological Society Board's continued support of Zoo Director Tanya Peterson.  The news is not only disappointing to myself and Staff, but extremely disturbing that in light of all the Animal Cruelty and Mismanagement facts, presented by Staff in recent media efforts, and by myself continuously for over a decade in this blog, that this Absurdity is the outcome.

As noted in my opening paragraph, there's been more since that article eleven days ago.  The last several days has seen as many articles pop-up, not only from the Chronicle, but the SF Standard.  This gist of those offerings circle around the Mayor's Panda Fundraising Plan, specifically her attempt to solicit funding from Tech Giants, with the illusion? delusion? of a "smart" enclosure for the Pandas.  I have two thoughts on that...

1) Mayor Breed knows absolutely nothing about Our Zoo.  Talking about and actively chasing a high-tech enclosure, when Our Orangutans can't even get an enlarged enclosure, because the Needed netting "costs too much", is OBSCENE.

2) Hopefully London Breed loses the Election and that will put an end to this Disrespectful (to current Zoo Residents) Panda Plan.

For size reference to those familiar with ground level view of the former Otter enclosure, I have provided the above photo. It shows that the size of Otters, is slightly larger than the Island (concrete mound), of the Grotto's that are the Orangutans only topical space.  ... The photo below shows the approximate size of that topical space.  Note there are structures on that space.

Additionally, for a Zoo Director to enter into a venture of this granduer and for the managing entity of a Zoo, to support this Want over the Needs of the current Residents that live there is Disgusting.  I mean just down right downright Abhorable.  Shame on Zoo Director Tanya Peterson and the San Francisco Zoological Society Board.

I used to use (search) labels, but too often forget.  I started noting "Hot Topic" in title, but fell lax on that.  Now I'm just going to add labels, keywords, etc., here at the bottom with hashtags.  Does it help in searches, who knows.
