My Zoo Outtings Synopsis - Sunday April 13, 2014

>April 13, 2014 - Zoo Friend Birthday Today!

Happy 11th Birthday Poppy!

>April 8, 2014 - Saw the new Enclosure built in the Lion House as Temporary home for the Anaconda and new Toucan Acquisition.  Both will move to the Tropical Aviary when its renovation is complete.  I personally think the space is way to small for both.  The photo makes it appear bigger than it is.  I'll try to remember to estimate the measurements.

>April 7, 2014 - Saw Athena, the Eurasian Eagle Owl in one of the free flight Aviaries.  She was enjoying some pool-time!  This was a first!

RIP Kiwi - Nigerian Dwarf Goat Passes

Forever Loved
Forever Missed

RIP Kiwi
Precious Sweet Girl XO

I didn't see my Little Friend when I looked for her Monday to say Hi.  I asked, only to hear the sad news that we had lost her the day before.  With tears streaming, I remembered my chat with her on Friday, while she enjoyed the sun.    In recent years she had some physically uncomfortable health issues, but despite that she always seemed like a Happy Girl :)  She was one of the Sweetest Goats on the Farm.  A very Gentle Soul.

You will be missed by all those who knew and loved you.
Love you Honey Girl

RIP Milky Way - Nigerian Dwarf Goat Passes

Forever Loved
Forever Missed

RIP Milky Way
Precious Sweet Little Boy
You were a Special Friend XO

Today when I went to the Farm, I heard the news that we lost this Sweet Little Friend yesterday.  I hate hearing this kind of news when I'm there because I always start crying.  I am so sad about my Little Friend.  He was adorable.  He would hang out right next to you for hugs, sometimes walking with you.  Just Precious.  He was a spunky little thing, despite having some recent health issues he was always right up there front and center, butting for the treats :)

You will be missed by many whose hearts you touched.
I love you Sweetheart.
You are daydreaming with your Papa now.

Happy Birthday Peaches! - Nigerian Dwarf Goat Birthday

Peaches celebrated her Birthday today, March 9!

Happy Birthday Peaches!

I was glad I could go to the Zoo today and visit my Sweet little Friend Peaches and wish her a Happy Day and of course, sing her Happy Birthday :) to which she then wiggled her tail!  i think she liked it :)  I love you Precious girl!  She was having a wonderful time, lounging in the sunshine with her friend (and mine) Basil close by :)

You can visit Peaches, her "sister" Kiwi (who she came to the Zoo with) and all her friends at the Family Farm in the Children's Zoo.

Happy Birthday Maroudi! - Nigerian Dwarf Goat Birthday

Maroudi celebrated her Birthday on March 5!

Happy Birthday Maroudi!

I found out it had been my Precious little Barnyard Friends Birthday when I visited today.  I felt awful and still do that I didn't know and wasn't there for her "party"!  Her Keeper Amber and the Volunteers made her a yummy Goat treat Cake and had the other Staff and Visitors around to sing her Happy Birthday :)   The Barnyard Keepers are wonderful about making sure to celebrate the Friends Birthdays.  I thank them for that because celebrating these awesome Animals on their special day is important to me.

I felt so awful that Keeper Irene sang with me our own Happy Birthday to Sweet Miss Maroudi today and she seemed to be listening as she even smiled afterward :)   I love you little girl!

You can visit Maroudi, her family (sons Milky Way and Snickers & half-siblings Paprika, Nutmeg and Basil) and friends at the Family Farm in the Children's Zoo.

Happy Birthday Spice Kids!

Today the Spice Kid Triplets turn 11!

These three were born in one litter to Mama Ginger and Papa Seamus!  Both Ginger and Seamus were petite as is their daughter Paprika, but her bothers Basil and Nutmeg are big boys!  When I'd see Nutmeg hanging out with his mama it was hard to believe, but so much like a young son with his Mama :)  Paprika reminds me of her Papa :)  Basil can be seen often sitting on the step outside the stall where his Mama used to stay :)  They are very sweet Goats, as are all the Barnyard Friends.

Happy Birthday Nutmeg!

 Happy Birthday Paprika!

Happy Birthday Basil!

RIP Rosie - Nigerian Dwarf Goat Passes

Forever Loved
Forever Missed

Sadly we have lost another Zoo Friend.
Our Sweet Little Rosie passed yesterday.
RIP Precious Girl XO!

Rosie is a favorite on the Farm to many.
All the Barnyard Friends are wonderful and loved :)
but it seemed many knew Rosie by name.
I think she had quite a fan club among kids.

Zoo Spirits :)

It may be a few days before I get the past couple days of photos up, so I thought I'd put up some other fun Zoo related fotos.

Over the past few years I have caught some interesting photos in different places around the Zoo.  I 100% believe in the afterlife and that our Spirits remain after we've passed on.  I have had experiences that are undeniable.  Some believe, some do not.  Once you've experienced first hand, you can't deny the existence.

Below are photos I've taken (or been taken with my camera of me :) or otherwise noted as my friend Lee's,  that I think have captured Spirit activity.  To me this is interesting and fun!

 Orbs in the Giraffe Barn!

Spot of light above Lion House room.
Only appeared when Lee was standing there.
This was just after Tunya's passing.

Another day recently after Tunya's passing,
an Orb appeared in the with the Lions.
Top: Orb is near Amanzi (Lion in back)
Bottom: Orb is near top of blue ball.

Tons of Orbs in Seamus' stall!
This is in the Red Barn in the Barnyard.
Photos by Lee

Amanzi in the last Lion House room, closest to the "nesting" room.
In the top photo you can see clearly a spirit figure passing behind her!
Both her hands, feet and tail are visible holding the Enrichment Item
and flat on the floor, respectively.  So it is not any motion from her body.
Below was taken within the same minute.  Spirit had passed.
After I showed the photos, one LH Keeper told me
of odd instances coming from the "nesting" room.

Photo taken in the Yellow Barn at the Barnyard.
You can see two Orbs,
one to the left, one the fencing above a Sheep
the other on the blue back door.

More photos soon!  Lee's has a couple i'm waiting to get.

RIP Seamus - Patriarch Nigerian Dwarf Goat Passes

Forever Loved
Forever Missed

Sadly we have lost another Zoo Friend.
Our Sweet Seamus, passed on Tuesday.
RIP Precious Friend XO!

I woke up Tuesday morning and knew I had to visit Seamus.  I am thankful I was guided to see him and was able to spend some of his final moments visiting with him.  You will be missed special friend.

The Barnyard Keepers are awesome and I am sorry for their loss.  He was the Patriarch of the Farm and Father to many :)   His Farm Family put out this loving memorial for him.

Friday March 16, 2012 - Zoo-ing in the Rain pt one

Rainy Days.  Its been two weeks since I went to the Zoo, I just couldn't after all the recent passings of Zoo friends.  I woke up today after having a dream with my Goobie (Bairds Tapir) and Miss Elly (Rhino) and knew today was the day, even though it was raining.  I have missed seeing Goob and knew he wouldn't be out in the rain but wanted to check on him.  I also had made some St Patty's Day items (some for a few Keepers) that I wanted to deliver before the actual day.  They were intended to be pins, but with the rain I decided to make them magnets.  I think they turned out cute!  Of course they would, Mr Seamus on a Shamrock, come on!  :)

Seamus gettin' his green on :)

 Kudu's braving the rain!

 all Sheeps inside!

three Barbados Sheep, Marina in front

the ladies were very attentive today :)

here's Miss Hazel and Salsa I believe
(I used to know all the names, and then I brain faded)

i will get them all down again soon!
