Our Wild Born Chimpanzees, Now In The Forest On The Otherside

Maggie reaching heights,

And even higher heights,

Among the Trees,

in the New Yard 2019.

For the first time,

since her wild life.

The last many days, I've been struggling to form a series of blog posts about my Chimpanzee Friends who are no longer here.  When I get in my head about their lives, what they've meant to me in my life, my relationship with them, and their absence, it's a bit overwhelmingly emotional.

This "then" photo came up in Facebook memories this morning.  I had already pulled the "now" photo to use in a post.  It's a screencap from a video I took the first day the Chimps got access to their new yard in 2019.

Maggie climbed to the very top of the netting, and from my perspective it looked like she was among the trees. I immediately thought about her life as a wild Chimpanzee, living in the forest.  A life that was stolen from her as an infant.  A life she never knew, but was now getting the chance to semi-experience being high up in the trees.  It brought a bittersweet joy, but also a sadness, even though I think she's had a happy life.

I almost never use Stories, but I was drawn to oblige Facebook's then and now request.  Once I added music, tears started flowing.  Maggie, Minnie, Cobby, Tallulah, and Candy, are now reunited with eachother and their Wild Family, in a Forest on the otherside.

I used to use (search) labels, but too often forget.  I started noting "Hot Topic" in title, but fell lax on that.  Now I'm just going to add labels, keywords, etc., here at the bottom with hashtags.  Does it help in searches, who knows.
