Happy Birthday Wakoda! - Navajo Churro Sheep Birthday

Wakoda turned 12 today!
Happy Birthday Wakoda!

I Love You So Much
My Cute, Precious Friend :)

I am so glad I was able to celebrate you're special day with you!  I think you liked the Ukulele sing-along!  Four Happy Birthday songs and many Birthday huggies!  You are very special to me, my Sweet :)  XO!

Hear/Watch two of the four Birthday song renditions :)

RIP Buffy - Buff Cochin Hen Passes

Forever Loved
Forever Missed
 RIP Buffy

Pretty Lady I will miss you
and your beautiful fancy bloomers,
prancing around the barnyard!

Buffy's Keeper Amber put up this
sweet flower memorial next to
Buffy's photo in the barn's frame.
In addition to hanging out on the farm with her friends, Buffy was part of the Zoo's Bald Eagle Breeding Program.  She incubated fertile Bald Eagle eggs until they were ready to hatch :)

Visit December 17, 2012

Jahari heard our voices and looked up to say Hi!
Hi handsome, nice to see your face!

Niya sniffing at the "howdy" window as Shastyuh (Tiger) vocalizes in the yard next to her.   This window was boarded up when the Snow Leopards moved in, but was open for Padang and Tony who were great friends :)

Kai having a siesta his holiday decked out shelter :)
Visit the Kune Kune Pigs at the Farm!

While I was there, the Christmas Tree arrived.  It was still being adjusted as I was leaving.   I'm told its not a living tree :(  Would have been nice considering the Zoo's Mission for Conservation, as Lee pointed out. ...  I love Christmas Trees, but have always hated how they are dressed up fancy, oohed and awwed at,  then raped of its deco's and tossed out to die on a street corner.  Makes me frown.

Well, I guess this is a start.  Interesting timing <grin>, since I had recently posted text and photos about barrier breaching, including this enclosure where the Black Rhinos live.

Sadly, these signs (three along the Rhino barrier) are too small and are only at this one exhibit, not at the others I documented being breached.  ... It seems like once again I'm running the Zoo, although this time only Semi, since instead of taking things seriously, Management continues to do things half-assed.   But then, they do advertise Mediocrity.

Happy Birthday Spice Kids!

Today the Spice Kid Triplets turn 11!

These three were born in one litter to Mama Ginger and Papa Seamus!  Both Ginger and Seamus were petite as is their daughter Paprika, but her bothers Basil and Nutmeg are big boys!  When I'd see Nutmeg hanging out with his mama it was hard to believe, but so much like a young son with his Mama :)  Paprika reminds me of her Papa :)  Basil can be seen often sitting on the step outside the stall where his Mama used to stay :)  They are very sweet Goats, as are all the Barnyard Friends.

Happy Birthday Nutmeg!

 Happy Birthday Paprika!

Happy Birthday Basil!

Meet the Sheeps!

I spent some extended time with my Barnyard Friends
last week, and caught
this precious moment with Hazel, the female Jacob Sheep

Hermosa came over to see what Hazel was doing :)
I wish I had gotten a pic of them from the front
would have been soooo cute!

 Hazel laughed :)

Then she looked at the Duck pond :)
It was cute.  She could go around up to the pond
but chose to gaze at them from there :)

One eye on the Ducks and one on me :)

Hi Hazel! I love watching you :)

More Duck watching :)
It was  very sweet :)

Sunday March 25, 2012 - Happy Birthday Wakoda!

Today was my barnyard boyfriend Wakoda's 11th Birthday!

I went to the Zoo today just for Wakoda's Birthday :)  I love this guy!  It was supposed to rain, but regardless I would have been there to wish my sweet friend a Happy Birthday!  Lee and I sang Happy Birthday to him :)  I gave him tons of hugs and some treats!   Then, lucky for all, me being there (with my party hat on!) reminded his keeper Tracy (thank you!) that it was his bday and she had the volunteers make Wakoda a cake :) and we all sang Happy Birthday to him!  Wakoda loved his cake and his hugs :)  Glad I could be there to help celebrate and make your day special my sweet friend!  XO!
