RIP Wakoda - Navajo Churro Sheep Passes

Forever Loved
Forever Missed

My Beloved Barnyard Boyfriend
Giving me a Smile :)

As painful as this is, I have to finally do this Memorial post for my Precious Friend.  Its been too long, even though I think about him everyday.  The last time it was Monday the 29th, was in April, the day we lost Wakoda.  I can barely look at his photo without sobbing still to this day.    But, I have to honor him with a post, no matter how hard it is, it can't be put off any longer.   The pain will never go away, because I am haunted daily by his passing.  He SHOULD still be here.

I can not express in words how much this guy meant to me.  I loved him so much and I know he loved me.  I miss him dearly.  I miss his voice greeting me, even before seeing me.  He knew my voice and would call to me even if I was outside the barn still  :)   I miss our hug sessions!  He loved to be hugged!

RIP My Sweet Wakoda
I Love You My Precious Friend
You had a Wonderful, Gentle Soul
I was lucky to know you.

Eternal Wakoda Hugs
You are always in my heart  XO!

Happy Birthday Edna! - Chinese White Goose Birthday

Edna celebrates her 22nd Birthday today, April 6!

Happy Birthday Edna!

I love knowing when the Zoo Friends Birthdays are, so I can wish them for their Special Day :)   Barnyard Keeper Amber puts the Birthdays up every couple months in the Barn.

I was happy to be able to go by yesterday and sing to my Sweet Friend Edna :)  A little girl took interest.  She called over her mother to tell her that it was Edna's Birthday :)  So I sang again along with the girl and her mom AND Edna!  Check out the video and hear the lovely vocals of Miss Edna :)

Love You Edna!  You are the Queen of the Barnyard!  .... You can see Edna keeping things in order at the Family Farm :)

RIP Milky Way - Nigerian Dwarf Goat Passes

Forever Loved
Forever Missed

RIP Milky Way
Precious Sweet Little Boy
You were a Special Friend XO

Today when I went to the Farm, I heard the news that we lost this Sweet Little Friend yesterday.  I hate hearing this kind of news when I'm there because I always start crying.  I am so sad about my Little Friend.  He was adorable.  He would hang out right next to you for hugs, sometimes walking with you.  Just Precious.  He was a spunky little thing, despite having some recent health issues he was always right up there front and center, butting for the treats :)

You will be missed by many whose hearts you touched.
I love you Sweetheart.
You are daydreaming with your Papa now.

Fans of the Family Farm! - New Facebook Community

Yesterday, I launched a Facebook page for those of us who love the Animals at the Zoo's Family Farm.   I had wanted to do a Fan page for my Main Zoo Animal Friends a couple years ago and never got to it.   I spend alot of time at the Farm visiting with all my wonderful Friends who live there.  There is a great community there among regular Visitors, Volunteers, Keepers and of course the Animals!  So, I do this for all of them, which includes my friends who love our Barnyarders!

Please check out my page and "like" if you are a Fan of the Farm Friends or Animals in general :)

I hope to build a Community to Celebrate the Awesome Animals who live on the Farm! Learn about these Wonderful Beings! Communicate & share your Photos w/other Farm Fans!   Hope you will join us!

Happy Birthday Peaches!

I was glad I could go to the Zoo today and visit my Sweet little Friend Peaches and wish her a Happy Day and of course, sing her Happy Birthday :) to which she then wiggled her tail!  i think she liked it :)  I love you Precious girl!  She was having a wonderful time, lounging in the sunshine with her friend (and mine) Basil close by :)

You can visit Peaches, her "sister" Kiwi (who she came to the Zoo with) and all her friends at the Family Farm in the Children's Zoo.

Happy Birthday Maroudi! - Nigerian Dwarf Goat Birthday

Maroudi celebrated her Birthday on March 5!

Happy Birthday Maroudi!

I found out it had been my Precious little Barnyard Friends Birthday when I visited today.  I felt awful and still do that I didn't know and wasn't there for her "party"!  Her Keeper Amber and the Volunteers made her a yummy Goat treat Cake and had the other Staff and Visitors around to sing her Happy Birthday :)   The Barnyard Keepers are wonderful about making sure to celebrate the Friends Birthdays.  I thank them for that because celebrating these awesome Animals on their special day is important to me.

I felt so awful that Keeper Irene sang with me our own Happy Birthday to Sweet Miss Maroudi today and she seemed to be listening as she even smiled afterward :)   I love you little girl!

You can visit Maroudi, her family (sons Milky Way and Snickers & half-siblings Paprika, Nutmeg and Basil) and friends at the Family Farm in the Children's Zoo.

RIP Corona - Navajo Churro Sheep Passes

Forever Loved
Forever Missed

Sadly we have lost another Zoo Friend.
Lovely Lady Corona passed yesterday morning.
RIP  Sweet Precious Girl XO!

At age 16, Corona was the Grand Dame
of the Navajo Churro Sheep Family.
She held court in the Yellow Barn
and even while plagued with arthritis
she gracefully let children pet and brush her.
She was an elegant lady.

Inti - the Zoo's precious Bobcat :)

While trying to crusade for Wishbone to get some grass, my next planned crusade was to get Inti a proper living space.  Inti has been living in a series of cages for a decade.  Granted they are decent sized cages, they are still cages.

About a year ago I asked a Keeper about this and he told me he heard there were plans to find a place outside the ARC (Animal Resource Center) and build Inti a new home.  I asked an Docent who works in the ARC and she said she heard that too.  Figuring this was being taken care of I continued my crusade for Wishy, though because (in my opinion) of Zoo stubbornness and stupidity we all know how that turned out.

A few months ago, Angelo the Anteater's home was getting some work done and I heard he was staying in the neighboring enclosure while that construction was in progress.  After he moved into his new digs, which I will note look wonderful! ,  I heard that his vacation home was going to be renovated for Inti!  Great news.  I also heard it would be done by May.   Until yesterday I hadn't seen/heard much "work" being done there.  Now that I have, let's hope its not too long before Inti gets a new home!   I hope it has some natural flooring.  It should mimic the Snow Leopard area.

Below are some of the photos I took
when I got to meet Inti in 2010.

love you precious Inti!
look forward to seeing you again soon!

Sadly we have lost another Zoo Friend.
Our Sweet Little Rosie passed yesterday.
RIP Precious Girl XO!

Rosie is a favorite on the Farm to many.
All the Barnyard Friends are wonderful and loved :)

I think she had quite a fan club among kids.

RIP Seamus - Patriarch Nigerian Dwarf Goat Passes

Forever Loved
Forever Missed

Sadly we have lost another Zoo Friend.
Our Sweet Seamus, passed on Tuesday.
RIP Precious Friend XO!

I woke up Tuesday morning and knew I had to visit Seamus.  I am thankful I was guided to see him and was able to spend some of his final moments visiting with him.  You will be missed special friend.

The Barnyard Keepers are awesome and I am sorry for their loss.  He was the Patriarch of the Farm and Father to many :)   His Farm Family put out this loving memorial for him.
